Tuesday 6th October

Today i have finally finished :) :) :) :) :) my documentary has finally come to a conclusion, and i have wrote my evaluation which you can see above :) I feel i have worked really well on my project and have enjoyed every minute of it and hopefully my grade shows that :)

Friday 2nd October

Today i am so close to finishing my documentary, everything is in order, and all my voiceovers are the same level of sound. Although i have had a massive problem with my backing tracks, i am unable to duck or fade out my tracks, so they do not fit at the moment, i plan to go onto garage band and fix it all manually, this will take some time but when it is done i will only have to do my self evaluation and i am finisheeeeeeed :)

Friday 18th September

Today i gather some more footage, i did another interview with a friend of mine who plays basketball, and loves playing it, but has no provision to get into a team in his area as their is only 1 and they are off a very high standard. So he feels their is no really opportunities for him, which gave me another solid base to work on. I will now put all my footage together and edit it all till it is perfect :)

Wednesday 16th September

I carried on my filming today, having being told i needed more actual footage, i decided to organise a one on one between me and my friend, and get someone else to film it. It worked out well, as my friend was able to express his opinion on the state of British Basketball. I was also then able to film me introducing my documentary, and say what it will be about and what i am going to do to get the information. I then got my view across of the state of british basketball, as i feel that is important as i am creating it. From here i will gather a few more interviews and get a bit more footage and finish up my final piece :)

Wednesday 9th September

First day back, i have no started to put all the clips together from which i gathered over the summer and just before. I have a few more interviews to put into my documentary and have all the clips of people playing basketball and plan to merge it all together and see how it looks. I also today had a meeting with my teacher to see were my documentary was going to go from here, he said i had the foundation laid down for a really good project and to just get more information and actual footage.

Thursday 13th August 09

Today i managed to get alot of filming done for my documentary, i should get extra brownie points for working over the summer. I organised a basketball match between some friends and filmed it, i then got a few of them who play for the same teams as me to give interviews into why they feel british basketball is so low, and what their opportunities are. I gathered more information and when i come back from my summer i will finish up my documentary :)

Thursday 23rd July

I managed to get my interview with my basketball coach/head-teacher done before i broke up for the summer. I had alot of questions ready to ask but he answered all of them in one big chuck, he was of much help and managed to give me lots of information that will help me get information across. I will now film some basketball over the summer, so when i come back i will be able to finish up my documentary and put it all together

Wednesday 15th July

I have now finished everything up-to my filming, i have completed my planning, research script and now even my storyboard :) I have put alot of work and effort into getting all this finished before the summer, i will now try and get part of my footage before i break up and then get some more over the summer, so when i come back i will be able to crack on and finish everything :)

Wednesday 1st July

I have now finished my final script :) :) :) :) its is really detailed and will help me when filming my documentary as i will follow it step by step. I will now start story - boarding :)

Friday 26th June

I have now finished my first rough script for my documentary, i feel it just needs a few more tweaks before it is ready for me to work on and start story-boarding. My script is very detailed as it includes alot of narrating as my documentary will include alot of voiceovers and interviews. I have also included my backing tracks for the documentary and what music i will use throughout the whole thing. I now plan to create my final script and then crack on with a story board.

Tuesday 16th June

Today i finished all my research for my documentary, i researched the NBA, BBL, British basketball teams (were they play, how many fans they attract) American teams (were they play, how many fans they attract), Luol Deng (British Basketballer) and Dwyane Wade (American Basketballer) I researched their rise to the NBA, so when i start to film my documentary i can include the difference of their life before hand, and if coming from Britain had any effect on his Final basketball career. I will now start my rough script so i can come up with how i am going to get all this information across to my audience.

Monday 16th March

Today i started researching different aspects of my documentary, i am planning on researching the NBA, the BBL, an american basketball player which will be Dwyane Wade and a British basketball  player in Luol Deng and go through each players rise to were they are now in the NBA, i will also look at the grass roots level in each country, comparing the opportunities and provision given to young players in each country.

Wednesday 4th March

Today i stated some initial ideas for what my documentary is going to be about, first of i was going to do British Basketball and how it does not compare to America at any level, then i changed my mind again and i asked if i could do it specifically on Dwyane Wade and his rise to the NBA, but my teacher told me it would be too difficult, so with this i decided to tie both ideas into one, and am doing comparing british and american basketball and comparing a british basketball player in the NBA and an American player in the NBA and going through their past and how they got to were they are now.

Monday 2nd March

Today we started looking at different types of documentaries and gaining information into how we should make ours. We looked at the codes and conventions of a documentary and also the history and how the became how big they are today. We then researched 4 specific documentaries and analysed them carefully to gain a better understanding for how documentaries work. I also had a meeting with my teacher to discuss my topic idea and how i plan to research all the aspects of the documentary

Introduction to Extended Project

We are starting a new project on Documentaries :) which will be on anything of our choice which we have till the summer term to complete. I have decided that my documentary is going to be on British Basketball and comparing it to basketball in america, mainly focusing on opportunities for people of my age group and were they go to get the elite level of performance and comparing it to how Dwyane Wade has risen from nothing to a massive NBA baller. I will include interviews with coaches and even just mates of mine who play basketball.
